The time will come when her paintings will be understood, Emma Kunz is said to have once prophesied. In fact, much of what she anticipated in her holistic thinking and practice seems self-evident today: withdrawn and far from the art world, she exemplified an expanded conception of art, rejected the question of art or non-art, and included a wide variety of fields of action - research, medicine, natural history as well as the supernatural, the magical, the visionary. Emma Kunz created her drawings on the basis of questions that she mapped on graph paper using a pendulum. In a spirit of repetition and appropriation, she continued to use the sheets after they were completed, questioning them anew.

Design artwork No. 007
From 1936 until the outbreak of war, Emma Kunz went through an intensive creative phase. She became intensely interested in the radiations and vibrations created by the pendulum. In this context, she was against any violation of the aura. Emma Kunz must have reacted very strongly to each of these injuries herself. A person could injure the net by an offensive act or even just by swearing. She said that the earth's net would be perforated by supersonic airplanes and satellites. And she predicted a revenge for every environmental damage and every man-made shift in the balance of nature. Of course, her predictions were not scientifically sound, but from today's perspective, we do have questions. If we take a closer look at the interrelationships of ecology: the perforation of the ozone layer or the ever-increasing radiation exposure.

Sunrise
Shine forth, O sun, shining eye of flame,Retreat thou darkness, mysterious of the night.Pale you stars in the divine firmament,For the coming day rises glorious in the east. The divine ray enlivens the course of all worlds,In mastery of eternal majesty, death and life.To him all creatures are powerless,In mighty, life-sustaining power.

Kinship of souls
The wisest and highest knowledgeIs the awareness of feeling human. Not a slave to a worldly consideration,Which only obeys the laws of nature,Which creates life from itself,And often in sorrowful existence onlyCatches a light from a higher nature.
Free be the mind, free its way of thinking, The beginning God, and God the end.But let you be the centre of the Godhead,In whom thou art called to the highest life, Not nature rule thee, thou her! He who thus recognises his will,Becomes soul to soul.

Reading the stars
Ask the stars about your destiny,Search, o soul, with enquiring eyes.Have counted them all childishly. And then chose three as my guiding stars.Through them alone I found the heavens open,Their light indicates faith, love, hope.Faith promises you an eternal land,It leads you across with a sure hand.It is love that conquers the enemy,It is she who overcomes sorrow and suffering. In it the divine rule is great,Only love can mould a happy life. When storms rage from all winds,You will always find hope as a comforter. It will lift you out of life's dangers,Will save you from doubting nothingness. So believe, love and hope at the same time,Then the earth will become your heavenly kingdom.

Design artwork No. 033
For Emma Kunz, her drawings are a kind of mental sedimentation of her development process. They are illustrations of her way of thinking. Emma Kunz never intended to make art. For her, it is a visualisation of her inner self. And these symbols are in harmony with the great cosmic rhythms. The pictures have become works of art that also fulfil aesthetic demands. To the superficial observer, these drawings may appear decorative. Decoration of the beauty of these drawings has become an aesthetic product, so that they have been declared art in an indirect way, i.e. in a roundabout way. After her death, her pictures are still exhibited in renowned art galleries. Framed or lying as they were created.
For us viewers, these pictures are beautiful, they are expressions of an inner urgency. With an order in which the universe is integrated. These pictures are therefore not created by an expressive print, but by the purity of her intention, which she expresses to us viewers with various pens on the graph paper. Her personality disappears into the background, she is the tool and these drawings are a means of expressing her relationship with the divine. It is difficult to find other words for the consternation, the order created on these sheets - which were originally created and used for a message of salvation. They are images of wholeness and this is the only way to understand Emma Kunz - in her wholeness.

World view
Barely an unimpressive dotYou are in the vast earthly space. But the whole world radiates from you,You are the key to the gate of the world,Even if it always circles new orbits,It always remains what you show it.To you a world full of longing, proud happiness,The other curses fate's hard spite. You shall not measure her by your neighbourNor forget thyself, thy divine self. How thou livest them,What you strive for,What you add to it,That is the world.

I am not sorry
I am not sorryWhat I have doneHave done you good. Why do you look at me so questioninglyAs if nothing had been done?It is the thought that harbours the deed,Be it good or bad,Therefore examine rightly,Choose the good simply,You will not regret it!
I am not sorry,If through great deceptionI did not withdraw my trust from you.Even if the world deceived me,It shall not destroy faith,The sun of truth can illuminate the day.O happy he who builds on it,Who trusts in itAnd yet does not see the fruits,
You do not regret it!
I am not sorry,If I am not able to hate the enemy. The stream of time rushes by,And death is the gain. But you, heart shall be eternal,Let God reign in you alone,Let His love's power reign,Fighting death and the night of death,Granting your neighbour sun and light,It does not repent you!

Spring sermon
Today I walked through the forest,My heart full of curiosity and desire. The early spring is full of wonder,Had just given the trees a sermon:What are you all standing around for?Quickly into the new spring garment! There's not a bush to forget,He will get his dress.Made of delicate fabric, as soft as loden,Light green is back in fashion as a colour.Only the fir tree next door grumblesAnd heads defiantly into spring:What right is this in the land,Why don't I have a festive robe?Must remain the same year after year,And mustn't even think about it!Then spring says, just be satisfiedAnd just keep in minds.Only your dissatisfaction,You see nothing for your own glory. No stalk has gone completely empty,I will also decorate your costume,With colorful pine cones all the way to the top,And all branches with bright pine cones. So stand man, for protection and defiance! But remember that, you bad-tempered fellow:The robe alone should never be the main thing,This is only for outward appearances,What creates respect for you in front of others,Is your own, proud, inner strength.

Spring
It's early spring, what else,I've already seen the first flowers! And the birds are whistling from the roof,Chase away everything wintery,
And there's sunshine everywhere,Now wake up heart, you are there too. It's early morning, what else?A stream fed by the winter snow,
It roars loudly over the rock faceAnd trickles over the edge of the bank,It's full of great exuberanceAnd thinks, how does the spring mean well.
It's early spring, what else,From here and there it sounds hurrah. When the sun is so favourable now,What an spring splendour today. Now it means no more standing behind the oven,Now we can go outdoors.

Spring dreams
A longing grips me with a deep acheTo indulge in reverie, in longing. The world in its splendour, it shines so wide,It calls in bush and grove: it's springtime!
it's springtime, it's calling undauntedIn the deep forest the blackbird calls to comrades. With soft sound the nightingales strikeThe high song of love, lust and dare,
I have dreamed away the song of love and lust,Forgetting myself, I soon missed the time,For over flowery meadows I went far,Forgetting all lust and splendour,
In my bosom a deep ache stirred,Longing only moved my soul.0 Springtime, return thou again,Where I dreamed of my first love's happiness!

Spring awakening
Life, oh me worth living,O springtime dream,When renewed forces floatThrough the earth's space.
When the buds sprout mightily,Forebodingly to the light,Reaching deep a greeting from God.Man, do not despise it.
When the head is adorned with flowersThe bride of spring,And heaven richly gladdensLooks her in the eye.
Let your eyes shine tooSunny, bright and clear.Even if tears moisten them,Let them shine through springtime bliss,Loving, longing, true.

Life
Life, who can explore you?Who can judge your paths?Where is the beginning, the end?Who is the creator of all worlds? Why is faith so powerful,That nothing in thee can displace it?God is the all-animating spirit,His will commanded life,Before you see the world's light,To Him, subject to His strength,But strength is given to thee,That thou mayest prove thy spirit. In mastery of thought,Building works in honour of God,That thou mayest abide in the structureOf God's glory for ever.
